Later, she sold advertising for a City Lifestyle magazine. which frequently required her to write the ad copy.

She enjoyed a fifteen-year career as a medical representative for a major pharmaceutical company, which included liaising with the Albert Lung Association. She rewrote their smoking cessation package, which was presented to corporations.

Being made redundant acted as a catalyst for her to move to Mexico. In 2001 she and her husband opened Agua Azul la Villa, a six-room bed and breakfast overlooking Tejoncito Cove. she runs this business year round along with her husband and golden retriever. In 2014 she became a Mexican citizen.

In addition to running the B&B, she has been a regular contributor to The Eye Huatulco since its inception. This is a monthly English language magazine, targeting expats and tourists.

Over the years, Brooke and her husband have traveled extensively through Asia and  Mexico. Their decision to make Mexico their full time home was largely due to the wonderful experiences they had while traveling and meeting  the people in this country.
